Specs:

CPU: Intel Quad Core i7-7700 – Base Clock 3.6 GHz, Boost Clock 4.2 GHz
Chipset: Intel B150
RAM: DDR4 12 GB
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050 2 GB
Storage: 1 TB hard drive
Disk Drive: DVD Writer
Wireless: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
Power Supply: 180 Watts
OS: Windows 10 Home

Benefits:

– The Core i7-7700 delivers some great hyperthreading multicore performance, while also maintaining a strong single core performance.
– The GTX 1050 2GB is a great card for 1080p gaming. It provides smooth frame rates for the vast majority of games at medium-high settings.
– The wireless adapter included in the HP Pavilion 570-p069 supports the lightning fast 802.11 AC wifi protocol.

Downsides:

– The i7-7700 is a processing powerhouse, however it doesn’t have the same performance ratings as the i7-7700K. While most won’t need the “K” version of the processor, it should be noted that the i7-7700 does not allow overclocking, and runs at an overall lower clock rate than the Core i7-7700K. For gaming performance, there’s little to no difference between the two. The change will be more noticeable in CPU heavy tasks like video and sound editing.
– While the GTX 1050 is a great bang-for-your-buck GPU, it can’t handle resolutions over 1080p. In more demanding games the frame rate may start to dip when the graphic settings are cranked up to ultra (even in 1080p), so if you’d like to see all of the pretty bells and whistles, you may want to upgrade the GPU.
– The hard drive that’s included is only 1 TB, so you may find yourself looking for a second hard drive fairly quickly if you have lots of large files.
– The lack of 16 GB of RAM won’t impact gaming, but it could impact people who do heavy video or sound editing.
– If you’d like to perform any upgrades, you WILL need to upgrade the power supply as well. A 180 Watt power supply will not be enough.
– With the B150 chipset, you won’t be able to add a second graphics card.

Verdict:

Coming in at $1,199.99, HP Pavilion 570-p069 desktop doesn’t break the bank too much. If you’re an amateur content creator who enjoys some occasional light gaming, this may be the desktop for you.
