Everybody loves the mobility that a compact laptop can provide but when it comes time to get some serious work done it is difficult to beat a large display. For consumers that would prefer the larger viewing area over extra portability a laptop like the HP 17-BY0055NR may fit their needs. Below we will look over some of the key benefits and downsides to this model and hopefully help you make the decision if it might be right for you.
Processor: Intel Pentium
Memory: 8 GB of RAM
Storage: 1 TB SATA
Screen: 17.3 Inches
OS: Windows 10
A 17.3 inch display is going to give you a ton of real estate compared to a typical laptop setup. This extra space is ideal no matter what you are trying to accomplish, games, spreadsheets or just browsing the internet is always nicer on a big screen.
HP also went big on storage with this design by including a large 1 TB SATA drive. No matter what type of files you save often chances are that you will never run out of space with this much available.
A 30 day trail of Office 365 comes with this model and gives you a great opportunity to check it out and see if it is something you want to purchase.
Obviously when going with a large display you are going to have to give up mobility. While this laptop is actually pretty good considering it has a 17.3 inch display it still weighs in at 5.4 pounds and is big and bulky when trying to take it on the go.
Performance is a mix review on this model, the memory is quite good at 8 GB but the lower end processor becomes a bit of a bottleneck if performing high end tasks and will be a problem for power users.
With nothing more than a basic Intel Graphics 605 card that uses shared memory it really isn’t capable of playing newer gaming titles that have high graphic demands.
Overall the HP 17-BY0055NR is a pretty basic setup but the big selling point is the large display and with plenty of consumers looking for this feature we expect this laptop to become quite popular.
