HP 14-CF0013DX Review

We typically consider full sized laptops to have 15.6 inch displays so taking the step down to a 14 inch screen can have some serious benefits without making a huge difference in your viewing area. The drop down to 14 inches allows laptop makers to make a much lighter and more compact laptop which is great for those who are on the go. Below we are going to review some of the benefits and downsides of the HP 14-CF0013DX which features a 14 inch display to see just how well it stacks up.

Specs

Processor: Intel Core i3

Memory: 8 GB of RAM

Storage: 1 TB SATA

Screen: 14 Inches

OS: Windows 10

Benefits

  • At just 4 pounds this laptop is a full pound lighter than your typical full sized laptop which makes a huge difference while on the move
  • It comes with a huge amount of storage space due to its large 1 TB SATA drive
  • It may not be the most powerful laptop on the market but the Intel Core i3 processor along with 8 GB of memory is quite good for a laptop in this price range
  • With just under 9 hours of battery time possible on a single charge it can keep you on the go for most of the day without needing to find a power source

Downsides

  • Only comes with a basic dedicated graphics card so it isn’t an ideal option for hardcore gamers
  • Does not include a backlit keyboard which is a must if working in poorly lit locations
  • No optical drive is included

Verdict

The HP 14-CF0013DX is a low cost option that still comes packed with decent performance and options. It is light enough to be a great choice for those on the go as well and its only real flaw is its lack of a high end graphics card for those that take gaming serious.
