 Acer Aspire GX-785-EB11 Specifications

  • Processor: Intel Quad-Core i7-7700, Base Clock 3.6GHz, Boost Clock 4.2 GHz
  • Chipset: Intel B150
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
  • Memory/RAM: DDR4 16GB
  • Storage: 3 TB Hard Drive and 128 GB SSD
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB
  • Wireless Connectivity: 802.11ac wireless LAN
  • Power Supply: 500 W

Benefits:

  • The Aspire GX-785-EB11 contains a quad-core i7-7700. With a clock speed of 3.6GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.2GHz, the 7700’s strong multithreading capabilities will hold up against the vast majority of tasks you throw at it.
  • The GTX 1060 3 GB is a behemoth of a card for 1080p gaming. Coupled with the i7-7700, you’ll see your frame rates soar well above 60fps. Don’t forget to crank up those settings to ultra too!
  • The Aspire includes lots of storage space. It has a 3 TB hard drive AND a 128 GB SSD.
  • With 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, you’ll be able to have lots of internet browser tabs open without a significant impact on your PC’s performance!
  • The Aspire’s wireless capabilities can take advantage of the blazingly quick AC wifi features!

Downsides:

  • While the i7-7700 is a powerful processor, it doesn’t hold the same features as its big brother, the i7-7700K. The i7-7700 cannot be overclocked. The differences in gaming performance between the two are unnoticeable; however, in more CPU-heavy applications, like video editing, you may notice a performance gap between the included i7-7700 and its big brother, the i7-7700K.
  • The motherboard only has one slot for a single graphics card, so you, unfortunately, will not be able to pursue an SLI build.
  • The GTX 1060 that’s included in this desktop only has 3 GB of VRAM. For the vast majority of 1080p gaming, this will be more than sufficient. However, if you’d like to try and push the resolution up to 1440p, you may start to encounter VRAM issues in some games.

Verdict:

The Acer Aspire GX-785-EB11 is a great option for 1080p gaming. It’s also more than sufficient for video editing tasks. If you’re willing to shell out the $1699.99 for the Acer Aspire GX-785-EB11, you’ll be greeted with a phenomenal 1080p gaming performance that will last you at least 2-3 years to come!
